    Keeper of the hens

We have discovered something very odd: Zoey prefers street walks to countryside walks! Maybe we should have expected it since she was living in Bradford city centre until we picked her up at 10 weeks old! :tooth:

The other night we walked her up through the town centre to access some different fields. This is only the second time we've ever walked Zoey through town, and she loooved it! She was much more excited and happier than when we explore new fields or forests. She is such a weird dog, Kasper is the complete opposite!

We took her on another urban walk last night, and I took my camera. We have to wait until the early hours of the morning to do this walk, otherwise it's too busy. You know what Zoey's like with people (she gets especially happy to see drunk people - I don't know what that says about us :rolling: ).

I had to stand still in the middle of the road for this photo...but it was worth it

Checking out the shopping trolleys at the supermarket. The automatic doors whooshed open as we passed (I think for deliveries as the shop itself had shut six hours earlier) making us all jump!

(how does she manage to look so huge?!)

We walked along the canal, which was pitch black. This is the first time Zoey has walked along a canal since we moved from Bingley, over two years ago. She was still very good with the ducks and swans.

Over a month ago we watched a swan sitting on a carefully constructed nest. Then there were tiny fuzzy babies, and now they're duck-sized! I have some photos on Lyle's phone from when they were smaller, I'm not sure they're any good but if they are I'll post them too.

Almost back to the village

And doing a bit of window shopping... "Oooh, I quite fancy that hat!"

    Well, pink is her colour...

There are some swans nesting in a park in Solihull - first time in 30 years there'll be signets. In previous years the nests have been destroyed by idiots. This year they have volunteers mounting a vigil.

    Love your pics! x

Really, even throughout the night?! That's dedication!

I really don't like swans, I think they always have obnoxious personalities. They kinda have an excuse at the moment as they have babies, but today one of the parent swans attacked and chased off a mother duck and her tiny duckling. Then it chased another duck off (this duck was literally 20 feet from the swan's babies!) and it actually chased the duck into it's babies because the swan didn't leave the duck any other route to escape!!
    Thanks :)

Yes, they can be bullies when they're so big I suppose!! Yes, I think they're even watching through the night - I really admire their dedication too. I don't like to see any animal harmed or distressed. Will never understand the evil that is a human.
