    Keeper of the hens

When we were walking someone's dog the other day we stumbled across a large expanse of fields with lots of footpaths on them. Very pretty and an interesting walk for the pups - guess who got to try it out today?

     photo kasphike_zpssfnzv1hk.jpg

You walk down a fairly bog standard looking dirt track road

     photo kasphike1_zpsx78akvru.jpg

And suddenly you're in beautiful countryside that almost looks a little like a moor in Yorkshire

     photo kasphike2_zpsbunutbup.jpg

Kasper doing his wonderful foot lift for an interesting smell

     photo kasphike5_zpsfqrdoaft.jpg

Then we left the open land and climbed a small hill

     photo kasphike6_zpscbepwjbs.jpg

The trees are on the turn now and there are some beautiful colours about

     photo kasphike7_zpsjwapky4g.jpg

All the fields to the right hold livestock, and up ahead a farmer was moving sheep from one field to another so we sat and waited a good distance away to prevent Kasper from getting highly excited! You can see the sheep entering the field in the very top right

     photo kasphike8_zpsrjcung7t.jpg

At the very top you get a beautiful view of the beach and the mountains

     photo kasphike9_zpsvnigyglc.jpg

     photo kasphike13_zpsaewnpukb.jpg

To our left you can see the quarry...I think there's a path that joins to another public footpath & takes you around the right hand side of the quarry, through a forest. One day when we're feeling super energetic and have no plans maybe we'll try find it

     photo kasphike12_zpsq0u656ph.jpg

Such beautiful scenery, and lots for Kasper to sniff!

     photo kasphike14_zpsvz6noobh.jpg

Look at all these different routes to explore!!

     photo kasphike16_zpso3hsdzg8.jpg

    More coming...

    Keeper of the hens

Almost at the halfway point of the walk there's a large lake with a dozen moorhens living there. Kasper was very excited to see he is seeing it off, you can see the ripples on the water from where the moorhen's feet touched it!

     photo kasphike17_zpsvdtqiyxr.jpg

The surface of the water is covered in plants, I don't know what it is? When we were here the other day we stood watching the moorhens and suddenly there was a HUGE fish by the shallow end closest to us! It was the biggest fish either of us had ever seen outside a fish farm; looked to be about 2.5 - 3ft long and really wide too! Didn't see any fish today though

     photo kasphike18_zps6azdcpif.jpg

Guess who went swimming?! :rolling: Also look at this intense Collie stare!

     photo kasphike19_zps4uifsuuz.jpg

    Lyle was tired :tooth:

     photo kasphike20_zpsesbqd8cp.jpg

Kasper was happy to have a brief rest and watch the world go by

     photo kasphike21_zpsyvpalnxl.jpg

I climbed the hill and we all had a little sit down

     photo kasphike22_zpsoee37x4x.jpg

Kasper was happy to soggily pose for photos!

     photo kasphike23_zpszzdnes0u.jpg

     photo kasphike24_zpsb8ar7dbw.jpg

Then we were off again, exploring absolutely everywhere!

     photo kasphike25_zpspaduxog8.jpg
Kasper still had a spring in his step :)

    Keeper of the hens

We met some adorable young cows and several rushed over to say hello to Kasper.

     photo kasphike27_zps71ndjxmg.jpg

I took Kasper on lead as Lyle hadn't had a chance to say hi to them, and he got to give one a fuss!

     photo kasphike29_zpszm4e9bix.jpg

We loved this dude's funky hair!! :rolling:

     photo kasphike31_zpsinqteef6.jpg

Kasper got to go mountain climbing whenever he wanted, trailing Lyle behind him

     photo kasphike34_zpsvcbjzwdx.jpg

Almost at the halfway point now!

     photo kasphike35_zpsn0ehff8k.jpg

I think someone may be getting tired - LOOK AT THAT TONGUE!!

     photo kasphike36_zpssco84otp.jpg
    Beautiful boy :)

     photo kasphike37_zpspgoa6exr.jpg

And walking back home, look at this beautifully bright tree!

     photo kasphike38_zpszoketmy0.jpg
And a video of the walk, with swimming footage and the young cows :)
